Facial Tools?
Are there any facial tools that are worthwhile to use at home?
People ask me all the time if any of those facial tools we see on Youtube or Instagram or Facebook or TikTok or the Home Shopping Network or Twitter are any good and do they do anything?
In truth, almost none of these tools do anything new or special or different or particularly useful or dramatic for your skin (and many do essentially nothing at all despite the claims and scientific sounding jargon and “testimonials” supposedly backing them up). Personally, I would not spend time or money on most of them. They just can’t offer enough in return to be worth our while.
(Another truth: there is no skin care tool in the world that will ever take the place of a good AM and PM skin care regimen. Always begin with good, regular skin care at home, and build from there. Even if you do find a great skin care tool to use at home, it will do so much more for your skin if it can work with a good skin care routine. No tool can do much for your skin if your home care routine is not keeping your skin in healthy shape. (Click here for help finding a good skin care routine for you: Click)
There are two tools I can wholeheartedly recommend for most of us, though, because they actually do provide notable benefits:
1) The bt-sculpt (home microcurrent device)
There is no shortage of microcurrent home devices on the market. And it’s no wonder, as microcurrent, when it is properly applied, can stimulate the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in our skin cells, which can help to naturally rejuvenate our skin. (Think smoother, firmer, more radiant skin.) It can also help our skin care products to penetrate more efficiently. The tricky part is, we need a device that can actually do this! Not all microcurrent home devices are able to, and it’s impossible to tell just by looking at a microcurrent device if its going to be effective or not. (Everything you need to know about microcurrent here: Click )
That’s where the bt-sculpt comes in! It’s made by the Seattle based company that’s been making the most reliable microcurrent devices since its foundation in 1974 (this is the same company that makes the professional microcurrent device I use in treatments at Rich Earth). These microcurrent devices are FDA approved and are made in the USA.
The bt-sculpt home device is easy to use, takes just a few minutes, and helps to bring out more glowy, bright, firm, smooth skin.

How do I get the most out of my bt-sculpt?
1) Cleanse and exfoliate your skin. (It’s important to have excess dead skin cells cleared away so the microcurrent energy can penetrate well.)
2) Apply a good water-based product to your skin. (It’s important to use a water-based liquid or gel product, and not an oil. Oil will diminish the conductivity of the microcurrent, while water-based products will improve conductivity.)
3) Keep your skin moist with a good hydrating mist during your home microcurrent treatment. (Microcurrent works best on wet skin. Dry skin will not conduct a current.) Mist your skin generously throughout your micro-current treatment to keep your skin moist so you receive the benefits.
Water based products that work great with the bt-sculpt~
Strengthen and Repair Vegan Serum
* The bt-sculpt also comes with a complimentary, water-based, hyaluronic acid liquid (Resty Fluid) that works well, too.

Crystal Radiance Elixir Neroli
Crystal Radiance Elixir Ylang Ylang
*You can also just mist your face with mineral water (not distilled) if you prefer.
While a professional microcurrent series is still the most comprehensive option, the home bt-sculpt still offers lovely and worthwhile benefits. The bt-sculpt can be used at home to keep up the benefits of an in-office microcurrent treatment, and it can also be used just on its own, even without professional microcurrent treatments. So what other facial tool is good to use at home?
2) Home Microneedling System
This home treatment definitively improves product penetration, and regular use has shown improved skin texture, color, smoothness and firmness. (Sign me up, please!)
The real key is in what you apply after using the microneedle roller on your skin. In The AnteAGE Home Microneedle System, a specific, regenerative stem cell solution is used that is exceptionally skin compatible (you’d be surprised at how many products are not that claim to be). This solution is also exceptionally rejuvenating, healing and anti-inflammatory.
For best results, we need to follow (a simple but specific) protocol (click and scroll down to “How do I get the most out of the AnteAGE Home Microneedling System?” and “Important Info”): Click
Here is a real-life example of someone who used the Home Microneedling System for about a year: Click
You can use the Home Microneedling System all on its own, or you can use it between professional, in-office treatments to enhance and prolong the treatment benefits. (Click and scroll down for the pro treatment: Click)

Important note for you! Microneedling done at home should be done with roller needles that are shorter than .5mm (this is also called micro-channeling). Longer needles (.5mm and longer) are best used in professional, in-office treatment only. Also, you can only apply a specifically formulated product after using a microneedle roller (and the one in the Home Microneedling System is the best for this). That’s why sticking with the Home Microneedling System keeps things simple and effective.
If we are going to use tools for our skin at home, let’s make sure they are good ones!

“Microcurrent devices are actually really good because they stimulate the muscles. I'm not a big fan of injectables.”

“The Home Microneedling System is a safe and natural rejuvenation treatment that you can do at home to reveal healthy, more youthful looking skin. Commonly known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), microneedling is an advanced skin technique that uses shallow needles to stimulate the top layers of the skin. The treatment creates a release of natural growth factors (your skin’s native regenerative proteins), naturally encouraging rebuilding your own collagen and elastin.”
